Station Zero is the deepest point on the Lift, and houses much of its mechanisms. Due to its secluded and easily defensible location, the station is used as a key communication hub for the Messengers. Electrical signals are cable-tapped up the lift cables, where they are decoded by Messenger stations at various locations.

The station is located within Cuesta, in a natural cavern. The cavern is surrounded by a network of abandoned mining tunnels which lead far deeper into the rock. Attacks from tunnel wildlife pose a significant threat to the station, and Utopia guards work closely with the cable-tappers to protect the settlement.

Station Zero primarily houses Messenger operatives and lift mechanics, and the activities of the cable-tappers is supposed to be kept secret from the mechanics. However, many have some idea of what is taking place but choose to ignore it as the presence of resistance guards greatly increases the safety of the station and the mechanisms.
