Although there is no official reasoning for this directive, it is widely believed through myths and legends that Genesis took place after elites usurped a higher power by attempting to harvest secret pockets of Aether in “sinful” ways. Others believe it is simply a power play, as successful generation technology would inevitably leak to the public and provide vast power to many factions.
AEC is potentially the most unregulated body in the kingdom. They have near unlimited budget and manpower, and often use deadly force to uphold its tasks.
