Sunshine Pastures Exclusion Zone, often shortened to Sunshine Pastures or “The SPEZ”, is a heavily guarded territory surrounding the Arcanium.

The zone encompasses a large stretch of relatively flat, grassy fields with an unusually vibrant shade of green. There are no walls surrounding the region. The borders are denoted by small signs, or in some cases, nothing but the edge of the grass.

Despite its lack of visible protection, the region is perhaps the most dangerous in the kingdom. Known protective measures include:

• Extensive sub-surface mines
• High-Altitude aerial patrolling and surveillance
• A vast network of heavily patrolled tunnels and access hatches
• External surface to surface missile arrays

In addition, the entire region is a zero-tolerance no-fly zone. Automated systems fire upon any craft entering the area without a bypass encoder, regardless of affiliation or circumstance. There exist only 2 bypass encoders, one on the Juggernaut and one on the high altitude surveillance balloon.

Sunshine Pastures is an official Territory of Ivykeep, although it has no permanent residents. As it is off-limit to anyone without express permission and accompaniment by the Arch-Mage of Ivykeep, regular zoning does not apply and there are no territorial laws, capital city, or official government.
